The motion was for an amendment to be added to the end of the original motion, which was "_That these bills be now read a second time._" The words were: "_but the Senate calls on the Government to recognise the scientific expert consensus regarding [climate change](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Climate_change) and that the repeal of the carbon tax must be accompanied by the introduction of serious and comprehensive policies to address climate change._" Since the motion passed, these words will now be added to the original motion.
